No I don't understand you.

because as near as I could tell this conversation evolved from money to true human stories and compassion but you just can't decouple the two.

Never on here have I seen someone open up and spill their humanity in a politically charged discussion without you finding some way of taking them to task for their stupidity and weakness. That trait always comes out Tom. It's as if their jugular vein is throbbing and calling for your teeth because to allay their fears and soothe their aches a bit might just give them some semblance of power over you.

What you don't understand is that most aren't looking for that power. They're just attempting to find some little iota of sanity in a world of greed and violence.

Obviously you possess compassion and fairness or you'd have never gotten that wonderful tribute from your daughter that you shared from us. Is this your alter ego, some 180 out tough persona you must have to feel like a man? If so, I pity you because to me, needing that would feel like failure.

Something just doesn't fit with the character you seem to be in "real life" with your political rants on here. They're so one-sided and illogical for an intelligent being that it feels put on at times, Tom's little inside joke. Of course if I'm right you'd never admit it. One little hint of the put-on is something I've noticed and commented on before, the way you talk to Mary Anne. You let her get away with things that you'd never tolerate with the male participants, treating her entries with respect and kid gloves. A true zealot would stay consistent.
