That pretty much says it all doesn't it. Any show of compassion out of someone left of libertarian is fucking fake, can't possibly be true or real. What an ass you've become making statements like that.
I'm sorry for the experiences you've had in regards to medical insurance and my heart goes out for your wife's MS. My sister died of that disease after years of lying like a vegetable in a nursing home. I'm absolutely willing to spend my government's money to ensure your wife's misfortunes will not bankrupt your family. It's what compassionate humans do. The sentiment has absolutely no component of trying to give political power to one party or the other.
COBRA's a joke except for extremely short periods of time. Just when you're the least able to have your health care costs go up by a factor of ten, the law gives you this wonderful opportunity.
Every argument I hear from you and others against a national health care program completely ignores the fact that the current system is hopelessly broken for a large segment of our population. It all boils down to the fact that, for the moment you're taken care of and every one else is just on their own no matter how it destroys their life.
