Understand: tired

So I'm not going to argue.

Would a victory by Dewey against Truman have been a lead-in to a conservative era in American politics?

What would a conservative have done when faced with the civil rights movement?

You have said before that JFK was conservative when compared to the Democrats of today. I agree, economically. Do you think that Nixon in 1960 would have been a conservative President?

Would a conservative Supreme Court have been able to tolerate, let alone seat, Thurgood Marshall, whose personal experience and professional activities had all been focused on the destruction of segregation? Indeed, is segregation even included among the things that conservatives of that era sought to conserve?

Would a conservative political body have supported foreign entanglements, or eschewed them, as George Washington recommended?

Does one have to go back to FDR's Presidency to root out the things that make you tired, or does one have to go all the way back to the Progressive, missionary reformers of his youth? Which of those reforms went too far?

What does conservatism think of labor? Has this opinion changed over time? Has its past attitude influenced the way that citizens have reacted to conservatism? Please describe.

These are only a few of the questions I have. None of them are trick questions.

As far as I can see, each side exists to keep the other honest, insofar as that is possible.

It would be perfectly possible to write a romance about colonizing the Moon in Galileo's time, as long as one never mentioned that the Earth revolves around the Sun. ;)
