re:The Debate Here...

1) No, Ed you posted here and I'm here. If Peiser wants to invite me to his little science clique I might join. But, our debate is here.

Last time you gave us a URL to the PDF of the report. Lost it? Or is this a different report?

2) I'm a ham and very interested in bandwidth issue with spacecraft. Tell me how much bandwidth the space based telescope would need to transmit the data and why is this a problem. How does having the telescope on the Moon improve this situation? Why not have a processor or three on board and only send images of possible objects? Besides, Boeing and others make very large dishes for GeoSats and we have large ground based systems.

3) So your arguing from authority just as Ken does. I may not be an engineer but I don't need to be to see flaws in an argument or a design. Who says Mazanek and his crew "are among the nations best engineers", Ed? How is this germane? Some of the best engineer in the world can be wrong and be pursuing nonsense.

You didn't tell us how the Moon disadvantages I mention are wrong you just say they know engineering and I don't. How does this stop the Moon from being in the way? How does this lower cost to land stuff on the Moon? How does it reduce the damage done by working on the surface telescopes while in spacesuits with abrasive moon dust covering them?
