This was my original reason for posting Tom's remarks.
Is it the best use of government dollars to do what business should be doing without tax money?
If Ken is right we don't need NASA returning to the Moon we need them giving prizes for specific tasks done by business at the Moon.
I'm for the commercial use of the Moon.
But not beaming power form there to here unless there is no cheaper method of doing it and it is found safe. This is different from the old idea of beaming a very weak microwave beam from a few thousand miles up from SPS in orbit. We are talking a power beam from 250,000 miles away on the Lunar surface. Possible multiply beams as more power stations are built.
