re: You're [sic] Economics Are A Joke

Given the general level of economics understanding I've seen here your insult doesn't hold water, and is something of a joke itself.

You guys just keep spouting your nonsense. Luckily, the guys with the money are starting to see the sense of commercial development of cislunar space. The kind of development that brings jobs, and new products, and many ways to keep America's competitive edge.

See, if you want investment capital, you have to speak the capitalist's language. Capitalists don't respond well to requests for handouts. Thus, the Mars crowd has to try to tap the tax base, yet they do so without offering reason why tapping that tax base will be of tangible benefit to the people who pay those taxes.

I've found in talking to hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people about space over the last couple of years that Mars really doesn't register on most folks' radar screens. They can see the benefit of developing advanced industries like optics. They can see the benefit of tapping a 4.5Bn year power supply with SPSes. They want the U.S. to be economically competitive.

If you don't mention Mars, they don't ask about it. It's a non-issue for the vast majority of people that I've spoken with.
