Space/Science » in reply to re: You're [sic] Economics Are A Joke

Great

I'm all for private investment in space, but don't think there is a case for it on the Moon or Mars. If someone can actually provide numbers that provide justification unlike you more power to them. You haven't and it's obvious. You haven't even attempted to defend the criticisms of your pie in the sky possibilities.

You seem to have totally lost the intitial premise of the thread being where NASA is spending its money. The business community is always free to spend it's money where it wishes and I certainly don't expect that to be on Mars. I don't expect it to be on the Moon either, but would be happy to be proved wrong. The issue was and is where should NASA spend its funds. If you think NASA should be making the choice based on near term economic potential you need to build a far better case than you have. The case I've heard for the Moon/Mars initiative is for science and exploration not investment other than an eye towards vast untapped potential. It is obvious to many that Mars has far more potential than the Moon and I've discussed why.

Mark
