Nagin
Source: After Ray Nagin, Mayor of New Orleans at the time of Hurrican Katrina.
Verb: To screw one's city and its people. Ex: "New Orleans got royally Nagined"
Noun: A corrupt civic leader who abandons his people to die when disaster strikes.
See also: Quisling
History: Mayor Ray Nagin has been compared to Marie Antoinette, the French aristocrat famous for sniffing "Let them eat cake!". Nagin's similar famous aphorism was his parting words to his city before fleeing for his life before the oncoming hurricane: "This is the real deal. Anyone who can get out should go now". Unfortunately, several tens of thousands of the city's residents had no way to get out.
"The city that care forgot"...that's so sad, isn't it?
