But in the civilized world have great problems with the concept of one single word. That word being empathy.

To paraphrase Shaw, the problems with human nature being the obvious lack of demonstrated humanity; sorta like the problems with common sense is that it is so goddamn uncommon.

When you keep in mind the people make the laws, it should be logical those laws should protect and serve the people that make them, and not just the possessions or property of some of the people.

And by way of the words involved; by definition all nations are made ukp of people. It is nice to consider ourselves a nation of laws, but it might be even nicer if we were a nation that paid more than lip service to those laws. And, in the words of the song, wouldn't it be loverly if those laws applied evenly to all of the people in that nation?
