The reason why it looks like Christianity is being removed...

...is because it has insinuated itself into areas where it shouldn't be.

Formerly, when the country was almost completely Christian, that didn't bother people. As the non-Christians become more numerous in the country, the unfair advantage and de facto favoritism shown to Christianity has come under attack by groups that don't expect similar favoritism, but for the favoritism toward Christianity to stop.

So it seems like Christians are being told to shut up, because they now have to act like the rest of us.

It seems personal? I'm sorry. Christians throwing rocks at my kid was personal too. You want to talk about hypocrisy? Many members of the religion of love pound on people who are not members. Reread your story of the Good Samaritan. If Christians would all act Christian, some of this stuff wouldn't be going on.

I find it hard to sympathize with a group that won't accept that they don't get to call all the shots anymore. Christians still have freedom of speech. They just don't get the floor all the time, the way they used to. Just try putting the shoe on the other foot once in a while. Try to imagine yourself as a member of a minority religion, or areligious. Consider what it's like to be relentlessly clobbered with other people's free speech every day. Today I almost got T-boned by a woman who ran a red light, and what was on her bumper? "Is your BIBLE dusty?" Nice.

Christians have the opportunity to practice their religion every day. No one is taking away their WWJD bracelets, their bumper stickers, their tee shirts, their music (and there is a lot of it), or any other of the public expressions of their faith, except on public property, which belongs to everyone.

I'm sorry if that disappoints you.

Re: homosexual communities: We have laws against discrimination in housing in this country. Currently, homosexuals are not protected by these laws. I oppose the idea of a community that discriminates in principle, and certainly would not support confining children to an exclusive community of any sort, but considering that homosexuals currently suffer from discrimination in many social milieux, such a community would be understandable.
