re: No, no, and no.

Mary Ann “What is against the law in the United States is to establish a religion as part of government, to discriminate against people based on their religion, and to force people to conform to a particular religion against their will because it is the religion of the majority. “

REB: True.

Mary Ann “Raising children as Christians is pointless, but not illegal. Children don't get it. You can teach children Christian behavior by example -- tolerance and practicing peace, for instance -- and you can teach them the stories associated with the religion. You can include them in rituals. But they have to choose Christianity, because it's a path. It requires great maturity and compassion, learned over years and years. Otherwise they wind up in adulthood as people who believe that they have the righteous duty to judge other people based on what they do on Sunday and whether they wear WWJD bracelets.”

REB: I don’t agree about raising children as Christians is pointless. Raising children as Christians sets a good foundation for them. If done right, they can learn morals and values. But you are right, they can not choose Christianity until they are adult’s.

Mary Ann “I know people who, at this time of year, will contend that allowing their children to be exposed to Hallowe'en is religious persecution because it's unChristian. Some of them will argue with me that I ought not to offer a Hallowe'en story time because it persecutes the Christians. (At this particular moment, I feel you have a lot in common with them.) I'll offer it anyway, as always with advance notice that Hallowe'en will be our story time at the end of October, that I will dress up, and here are the books we will read. In this way, they will be free to stay away from the things they think will rot their children's souls. But they are not free to tell the rest of us that we may not celebrate this holiday. “

REB: Let me put all my cards on the table. As a Christian, here is how I view the way Liberals treat us. Please correct me if I am wrong in my view and explain to me why I am wrong.

REB: I see Liberals as saying they are for everyone’s right to do whatever they want, except for Christians. Why do I feel this? Because they are trying to remove Christianity from everywhere they can.

REB: I see Liberals claiming they are for freedom of speech, except for Christians. They want Christians to shut up. If I was a rapper who wrote a song about blowing up buildings and being a terrorist, that would be okay with their freedom of speech. But if I started talking about the Bible, I would be told to shut up.

REB: This Liberal battle against Christianity seems more personal than anything else. And it is very venomous.

REB: This is how I see Liberals in this country. This is how I feel we are treated. To me, this is very hypocritical, because Liberal claim they are for everyone’s rights and freedom. Maybe I am wrong, but this is how I feel. Show me where I am wrong and maybe we can bridge this gap.

Mary Ann: “Mr. Monaghan intends not just to zone against pornography (a right and practice currently available throughout the United States), but against the sale of birth control. I ask you, what the hell business is that of his, to use his religion to limit other people's access to such personal products? Is that really what you want? “

REB: I personally don’t like cult-compound type environments, like Monaghan (or David Koresh- who was breaking the law) But if Mr. Monaghan is not breaking the law, is using his own money and is not forcing anyone to join, then who are we to tell him he can’t do it. If a rich homosexual wanted to start a homosexual community, would you oppose that?
