Don't know exactly where she lives, but a lot of the people there seem to wear tall black hats with a buckle on the front. I can see where that would get to someone after a while, especially a Virtuous Pagan.
In all the years of my Midwest childhood, including small towns, nobody EVER popped up and demanded that their kids not be exposed to Halloween, and believe me, kids would have noticed.
