The Christians in my part of the country

The Christians in my part of the country with whom I get along are probably not like anyone in your neighborhood either. They are the members of the peace churches, who are more interested in the social gospel and in working toward a world of common respect and non-violence.

Many of them don't support the policies of this President, but only recently have they become politically active, and at that reluctantly. That's because they are not trying to make the world perfect. They are not trying to make other people act in conformity with their religious rules. They are too busy working on themselves.

Strangely, they seem to feel no need to isolate themselves or to isolate others. They don't celebrate Hell the way the fundamentalists do. They don't look forward to the Apocalypse. They give me hope.
