Off Topic » in reply to Conservation of energy as it reagards a finite/infinite universe

A bit more...

You see why the recently observed acceleration of galaxies causes so much consternation and sweating brows among cosmologists still clinging to the big bang models. The acceleration within a closed system such as the big bang & bang inflation models subscribe to is in defiance of conservation of energy. They know this and it is a major blow to all their theorizing.

You don't see them say so in so many words, but that's why they created dark matter--it's a stop-gap concept to prevent further bleeding of the bang models caused by the conservation of energy gash. Dark matter within the universe is now supposedly responsible for the acceleration and is wholly unaccounted for and undefined.

Scientifically it's as good as saying winged angels blow the galaxies apart and are now blowing harder. Dark matter sounds more mysterious and scientific though, and because it is undefined has the saving grace of being hard to disprove.

"Dark Matter did it!"

"What's 'dark' matter and how did it do it?"

"I dunno."

"Brilliant."

More realistic is realizing that our universe may be much more vast than just a bunch of galaxies spreading apart and that this spectra is subject to energy transfer from other spectra.

Now the job needs to be to find and define these other energy intense spectra by following the trail of energy within spectra that we can observe.

The galaxy level may be better represented envisioning it as the 10-16 meters level (0.1 fermi) deep within the hand of the man and woman having a picnic in the park from the film Powers of Ten.

And that may even be way too big when an infinite universe is taken into proper scale and perspective.
