Imagine a hypersphere with a three dimensional surface. Next imagine the three dimension surface has a radial thickness comparable to the Planck length (the size is smaller than a quark). Now imagine the hypersphere is an assembly of concentric hyperspherical surfaces (think "hyper-onion"). The instant of causation occurs only on the outer most layer. A "tick" in time completes only when the outer most layer is fully assembled. The process of assembly is driven purely by chaos which builds the outer layer quark-by-quark. The assembly process is rule based along the lines of Boolean logic. One of the rules is that only the outer layer is exposed to chaos. Another rule is a new outer layer can form only when the early layer is complete. The time duration of one "tick" is the Planck length divided by the speed-of-light.
