The accelleration is an unpredicted and unexplained phenomenon. That is really really exciting! And it will generate a lot of conflicting theory till we get it explained.

Your return-to-steady-state universe does not explain where the push comes from any better than any other cosmology (a good deal less, since you are always so light on coherent details).
