For some reason, going back through this thread, I thought of the classic interferometer experiment, and probability waves...
The probabilities of being at a certain place on that game board, and of being in a certain "state" (married or not, kids or not, career or not), may not be caclulable without a huge super-cooled number-cruncher, but they are theoretically calculable because the choices are finite, and the spinner has a mere 12 "states" to specify the moves.
But: every player starts and ends in the same place.
Outside last night, while I was enjoying the relatively clear skies, three photons were simultaneously absorbed by one of my two retina. One had been emitted by the Sun, then bounced off Jupiter's uppermost cloud deck; one came from the photosphere of Spica; and one came from the abdomen of an errant firefly passing through the field of view, six feet away. Because they all traveled at precisely c, no subjective time occurred for them.
Emission, absorption. All three Feynmann diagrams look exactly alike.
