This isn't about the issues, but in fact is about attitudes and psychology etc. It's not like we have any shortage of polarizing rhetoric. We have an embarrassment of riches in that regard.
The closest thing I've ever seen to a consensus on the Zone, outside Space/Sciences, is that the polarization is underming this place as well as the country as a whole. Think about all the complaints that've been posted recently, from both sides of the political spectrum, and all the people who've said that they're fed up and they're not going to post any more. We don't need to throw any more gasoline on the fire, Tom, we need to dampen the fire.
