Back then we didn't have a perfect lab experiment on the subject.
Prior to the election, I was hearing many, many news stories and discussions on the problems with voting, electronic voting, and in some cases, how the Republicans (it's always only the Republicans) were going to use this to keep power, and how the results were going to be suspicious at best because of the huge number of problems.
After the election, the entire subject vanished as though someone had thrown a switch.
I thought that was instructive. Maybe you didn't.
