We have opposible thumbs and frontal lobes.

"I stand by my ideas, among many, that confrontation and action often is the better choice than apathy or appeasement."

.... and 'action' comes in many more types than just whats found at the point of a gun.

I'll write more later. Busy now. But it strikes me that your post is exactly what you accused LJ and others of, namely 'shifting the goal posts'. If you can't win this one, try another debate...Keep going until nobody is interested in going on with you, then spike the ball and declare victory in all the preceeding arguments.

Sorry to speak has way, but if you read what you write with objective eyes, I think somewhere you'll find justification for me having said this.

I'm not 'the Left' and I'm not looking for a 'foreign policy I told you so'. I'm The Yeti talking to TB about the situation in Iraq and why it was a bad idea and if it was illustrated as such ahead of time. If you want to piss and moan at 'The Left' for the last 30 years of history, go find whoever/whatever that is and go argue with them. Let me know when you find 'The Left' and what they look like (are they like Yetis? That'd be cool... Or maybe A bunch of hot chicks in broomstick skirts and braids?)

Enough with this broad brush bullshit. You need to stop looking at everything through an absurd 'coin' approach to history where everone is either 'The Left' or a rational citizen seeking the best for his or her country.

Last I checked, I'm a free thinking rationalist who makes his own decisions about what he sees as best for his country, and lives by them. You would do well to try to afford that some minimal respect and address me as that, and not just another version of the absurd charicature of the ominous 'left' employed by SDAI.

You want to talk about headaches from walls? Try talking to someone who discounts any position opposing that which they hold as being a 'liberal myth' or a 'leftist meme' or 'leftist tripe' or etcetctetc.

Still, at the end of the day, here you are with the policies you have supported and argued for having left this country in a disaster, having not achieved any objectives (or even really stated any firm ones!), isolated in the world, with half of our military stuck in what appears to all sane and rational people as a civil war. And you have nothing to say for youself than: 'thank god we didn't listen to THE LEFT!!!'.

good grief. Get a load of yourself.
