"I watch good! Red light stop, green light go, yellow light go very fast."

It would be a miracle if I got that quote exactly right - Jeff Bridges in Starman.

Instead of railing at your opponent that he's not paying any attention to "facts on the ground", it might be wiser to give him enough respect to allow him an opinion that does not agree with yours. Even though I pay as much attention as I am able [the point of the quote], I still may draw a conclusion or two that disagrees with yours. That should be ok. It is perfectly ok in my personal circle of friends. It is not ok at all when I have a discussion with you, though.

And I certainly do not guard against sharing opinions with conservatives. I have agreed with you repeatedly and you seem to hate it! As soon as I say I don't disagree with you, I am bombarded with proofs that real leftists abound that hold the heretical belief that we discuss. Then it is done in a way to tease me to agree with the sacrilege in question (which is not impossible to achieve since I have a tendency to play "devil's advocate").

Since we aren't trying to arrive at any useful policy here, I see no reason to seek consensus. Help me understand the relevance.
