Finding no evidence is not a sign that a crime has been committed. I don't assume every time I come out to my car in the morning that someone has driven it all night, reset the odometer, filled the gas tank, and put it right back where I left it. Although if anyone ever did that, it certainly would leave no evidence.
Investigators checked all the areas where there were some suspicions, and found normal, valid reasons for what happened in those cases.
I brought up the WTC theory not because a lot of people believe both of these unrelated things at the same time (although I could name a couple of names), but because the kind of person who will maintain that some horrible election crime has been committed in the face of every piece of evidence, never mind logic, has exactly the same kind of brain that a WTC nut has.
You go ahead and point out a "mainstream Democratic pundit" who still insists Bush stole the 2004 election. Kerry doesn't count.
I wouldn't be surprised that "the complaints came in in droves long before the election results were ever tabulated." I suspect the foundations for the fraud accusations were set up before voting even began, precisely to try the same gag they tried in Florida.
Wisconsin (10 electoral votes) was carried by Kerry by a smaller margin than Ohio, both in votes (11,384) and percentages (.38%). Don't hear much noise on possible election problems in Wisconsin, do we? No. The right guy won.
If the "Nation" doesn't think there was fraud in 2004, who the hell should?
Here's a similar article from that noted right-wing rag, "Salon." And the author's response to the hysteria that greeted it.
