re: Survivor of the tornado

I believe the whole purpose for the creation of the universe is for something like us to evolve- an intelligent being independent from God.

For this to happen, there must be freewill. Unfortunately, with freewill, bad things happen. I do believe, thou, that God does listen to those who pray to him. So that lady you heard thanking God may very well have reason to do so. Those who don’t want God to be part of their life will probably get their wish.

From what I saw, these people in this destroyed town have a lot of faith in God. This faith will give them the strength to rebuild their town and continue on. It is a strong thing.

As for death. Death is nothing to God. In Gods eyes, we still exist when we die, we just change forms. We shed this body, made of matter govern by the laws of this universe, for bodies made of the matter that make up his realm. But our soul- our very essence- survives. In his eyes we are still alive, we just change bodies.

As for the service you attended. Something like 82 – 84% of America is Christian. In any country where a culture makes up that kind of majority, you should expect to see its influences in the country’s way of life.

When it comes to weddings, it is usually a religious event. My wife and I swore our vows to each other before God. To me, that is a powerful promise.
