of the way you responded to my post vs. Tom's attack. It's the difference between a closed and open mind.
He tries to minimize the religious influence in his life and politics but it's obvious where his motivations come from and I admit to a bit of guilty pleasure when my posts unleash his vitriolic lashings. He clearly shows exactly what I was trying to point out that the Christianity professed by many is not about the supposed teachings of love and inclusion that Jesus spoke but about bullying cultism.
He would've relished me going berserk during that memorial service and walking out in a huff because I felt uncomfortable in a church or calling up a survivor of the tornado and chastising her for thanking Jesus for her good fortune. How absurd to even think that my resentment right or wrong would've resulted in the same rude behavior I've had a chance to experience.
But he'll never understand that people post online at times to air those confusing thoughts and use the place as an outlet for their frustrations.
Obviously you and I have some differences in philosophy but it didn't compel you to attack. Instead you looked for the common things and built the conversation on those. Hmm, seems to be the trait of a peacemaker. Wonder which of the two responses was more Christlike?

- I disagree
