Actually it's not.
The greatest myth of our Age is that the bible tells us of a place called Hell. It doesn't. Hell is not found in the bible. Nowhere is the notion of eternal damnation found in that book. We get our ideas of Hell from Dante and Milton. The bible warns of spiritual death, not eternal torment.
I'm not a believer, but I still study religous philosophy. It's funny just how little most Christians actually know about their own holy book.
