You, like Lindy seem to be having a hard time separating real life from posts on this forum. For your information I don't go around in my life jumping in the face of believers because they offend my sensibilities although I will fight back if pushed too often and too hard. That rarely happens.
I hardly hate the whole world. I find great joy each day in the people I interact with and the natural wonders around us. I just get a kick out of hard-hitting editorial writing. It stirs my senses and builds my knowledge of human nature. Your reaction is a learning experience. Through your posts I know there exist atheist/agnostic people that are militant about militant atheist/agnostic people. What's funny is I somewhat share that trait with you. I despised Madeline Murray O'Haire because she took on all causes no matter how trivial with this very visible public anger that probably set back atheists years in this country.
However, let's look at the makeup of this board. There are but a handful of regulars, none of which I truly know personally. The only one that lives in my city is Techie and I'm not really convinced he's even the creature he claims he is. If I offend or intimidate Tom, it's still only words and directed at really what amounts to an unknown entity. There is no global impact to what I write on these forums, only a blowing off of steam and a certain entertainment value.
You've got every right in the world to slam me for the things I write on here but just know that in the end it truly doesn't matter. Our board just isn't big enough or well-read enough to make a hill of beans in the national debate. It's one of the things that allows people to go off a bit.

- You can call Humanity many things, but unimportant is not one of them.
- But we are unimportant, insignificant!

- I disagree
- We cannot claim "intelligence" is the summum of the universe
- Without intelligence, the Universe may as well not even exist.
