Could try either Jihadist Republicans or, interchangeably, Crusader Republicans. The pathological need for ideological purity, the vindictiveness, the desire to proactively stomp out dissent both in and out of ranks not as a means to an end, but as an end. IE: regardless what it does for their party or their political agenda.
I wouldn't use Conservative. I don't think there really are many Conservatives in the Republican Party. I'm not sure what the Republican Party is currently, but Conservative it certainly is not, nor will it likely ever be again. The patina of 'conservative' it wears comes from the alliance with activist segments of various religious movements.
In that sense, it may be a dying party, or a party in transition. Time will tell.
