Tom, I don't have to tell you anything. You are the one who has to convince me, as well as many other potential voters as you can, that we are all wrong and you're not. Otherwise, you're sucking canal water come November.

I don't really know if the new boss CAN turn things around, I don't know if anyone can now after the mess you guys have made of things, but there is no doubt in my mind that the old boss and his policies don't cut it. The Republicans and their main constituency simply have no financial incentive for the economy to improve, they are going to be the last ones to feel the water rising up from the bilge tickling their ankles. Until then, taxes are low, labor is cheap, and the regulators are hamstrung. You've got everything you want, why change?

I'm perfectly capable of testing the economic waters and gauging the tempo of the country without any help from you, and right now your side is starting to sound as shrill and befuddled and clueless as Herbert Hoover, and for the same reasons. All you can come up with are diabolical press cabals, or should I say conspiracies, to explain away as alarmism what everyone is alarmed about.

So rave on, MacDuff, 'cause we're just not buying your program any more.
