Lost history
The Russians met with many of the leaders of Southeast Asia in the early 1950's to promote communist reformation. It was the beginning of their carefully orchestrated plan to communize all Asia all the way to India. They had their hands in every Pot.
If someone doubts this, one day I'll put up a list of key Commie take-overs, murders and political events that the NYT documented all through the forties and fifties. I have all the original unedited source material. However, I know few really cares to know the history in depth and detail. It is much easier to say Viet Nam was a US mistake and that we were the aggressors.
