Truman did not dispute the Chinese takeover.

Truman was president in October when the Chinese invaded. There were long discussions regarding the American response, if any, with one of the considerations being the US involvement in Korea. And as a matter of fact, it was in November that the Chinese crossed the Yalu and chased the UN (US) back down the peninsula.

While I'm sure the American involvement in Korea with a small, ill-equipped military which was stretched to the limit had something to do with the decision, the official reason for not having a military response was that Tibet was in reality an autonomous province of China. Logistics would have been a complete nightmare, also. I do not believe Tibet was a member of the UN and I'm sure they didn't have embassies around the world. I can't verify that now, but I believe the rationale was that Red China was already a member.

Truman, as did the ROW, chose to regard that invasion as an internal matter for China. That was even though there wasn's much Truman disliked than Red China.

Unfortunately the US is on thin moral ground to be critical on any official, national level. Individuals are certainly free to condemn China's aggression.
