Is there a serious problem with child molestation in the Catholic Church? Apparently, although I don't know what the percentages are compared to the total number of priests. Is it comparable to the general population? The numbers given in stories are vague as to how much territory is covered.

Should the problem be swept under the rug? Certainly not. People have a right to know this stuff.

Still...

Are there people among those who decide what is news and what is not, that segment of the media which opposes almost everything that is a foundation of Western Culture, that would love to see priests of the Catholic Church become synonymous with "child molester" in the average mind?

You bet there are. Keep that in mind as well, as this story is continually pushed to the top of the news heap.
