body language

The thing I can't understand is why so many people can't read Bush's body language. To me he's hopeless at hiding what he's really thinking and feeling, he'd have no chance in a poker game.

This is what drives some people crazy, Bush seems so transparently dishonest because all these body language queues telegraph it. I can't imagine how people can get through life without being able to read signals like that. Police can often do it, they can tell if someone is guilty from their body language.

For example if a person looks to one side it's usually to calculate and to the other side to remember something. This is where the saying shifty eyed comes from, as a person is calculating parts of a story, making it up as they go along.

That's one reason some left sites have pictures of Bush with weird facial expressions, they believe these expressions indicate dishonesty. I can't imagine how anyone could have these expressions and not be a complete crook. I seem to have met enough of them and that's what they do.

I suppose people who can't read these expressions have 4 vacuum cleaners in the closet from door to door salesman, use multi level marketing products and buy all their cars used and wonder why they break down all the time.

There's an old expression, written all over your face. For example when a reporter told Bush that Dean said he might have had foreknowledge of 9/11 Bush's body language seemed to be clearly saying he was trying think up lies about it. I don't know how anyone could look at that and think it was an honest response, interrogators would surely regard that as a sign of guilt.

I don't know whether he was guilty or not, but I would like to see him be able to discuss these things without "I'm a liar" written all over his face. Then you get people in polls saying he looks honest, which to me is inexplicable.

The famous smirk is another example, people usually smirk like that when they are ripping you off or lying to you. Bush didn't invent the smirk or the reasons behind smirking, but I've never seen honest people go around smirking like that.

Cheney is another one who seem incapable to covering up the lies in his face. One person described his expression as like a slum landlord tossing out a pensioner. Condi is just as bad. Powell looks totally guilty like he knows something he is really ashamed of. No one seems to believe him any more when he puts that expression on his face.

Rumsfeld I can't read at all, at least he would have some chance at poker. Maybe he uses some of that Botox of Mass Destruction they found in Iraq to paralyse the sides of his mouth to hide the smirk.
