The "Good News From Iraq" posts were painstakingly collected periodically by a blogger named Arthur Chrenkoff from conventional news sources and many others. Unlike news stories of American failure, which are prominent in many news sources, these were harder to find, although no less accurate. In September of 2005, Chrenkoff got some other work that make it impossible for him to continue taking the time to do this.
A typical entry can be found here.
Posting them here was pretty much pointless anyway.
All the news of successful reconstruction, progress in economics, success in elections, environmental reconstruction, education, and all the rest were received with not only skepticism, but outright hostility, as though such news were an actual affront.
Some dismissed it all as propaganda and lies. In other words, there could BE no good news, so anything that sounded like it was untrue.
If nothing else, it showed me something useful about motivations.
