Yeah I got something to hide by using ID. Check the time it's normally used (8:00AM to 5:00 PM) and maybe you'll be able to figure it out. You brought up the issue of me being a newbie and then like so many here want to drop an issue as soon as it doesn't work in your favor. I agree it doesn't matter so don't bring it up again. Try to show some intellectual honesty, scruples and consistency next time too.
Robert didn't nail anything. Cut and run is a legitimate shorthand for a real issue as I explained in response. The hackles raised on liberals based on the use of this term stem from the same root cause as refusing to admit that words can help the terrorist cause. You don't want to admit you're helping the terrorist cause even when it's obvious you are. That doesn't mean you support the terrorist agenda, it just means you need to weigh the pros and cons carefully in your position. I can accept as a rational position any proposal that does that, but not one from someone who refuses to face obvious potential negative consequences. But the I see you like making up excuses not to think as well.
My position is changing because I can admit that Bush's policies may be generating more terrorists and that they are failing to stabilize Iraq. I love to think and am always willing to change positions based on new data. I'm not willing to listen to people passing off proposals that have already failed as if they were brilliant new ideas or make excuses for not using their brains while claiming to be smarter than the other side.
My tone d9oes get uglyfrequently just like yours, Roberts, and about everyone else's when talking to the other side on this issue. It is very divisive issue and the tone will not change as long as everyone digs in as hard as you and Robert are doing. I'm trying to be more moderate by asking your side for an opinion on a way out and you guys throw it back in my face and act like you're the nice guys.

- Your good news was welcome but you never acknowledged the bad.
- Is it your contention that the good news is more newsworthy than the obvious carnage?
- I would have settled for "as newsworthy."

- Anyone want to bet that within 2 months the right will be blaming our failure in Iraq on the liberals?
- Watch TV
- Really its not a failure...
- They started blaming the left way before the election.
