re: "Left-leaning Americans"

Oh, you don't want cute? Okay. Here it is. No 'cute' added.

As usual, you know damn well which people I'm talking about, both in the media, politics, and here. Don't play cute again.

Ah, this 'present company excluded' tac. Yeah, frankly, I do know damn well which people: Anyone who has disagreed with the hairbrained policies you espouse and the completely wacky set of ideas you have had concerning the motivation and need for the Iraq war. I've argued these points with you for three years, and history as basically shown me as correct, and all your notions as fluff.

Part of the rules of posting etiquette demand the right be more polite than the left. We're also compelled to use both fork and knife to eat everything on our plates when in public. So, naturally, the present company is excluded from such descriptions of the witless. When speaking one has to account for one's audience. One does not read white papers to the studio audience of a talkshow and one does not personally insult the pre-dominantly left leaning Zoners, or else you are appealing to an audience of 2 or 3 people.

Your president had the total support of the congress and judiciary for 3 or 4 years, and a free hand to do whatever he wanted with Iraq. This war has subsequently failed, has left the region a mess, has crippled our nation WRT the ability to wield any power internationally, has only worsened the outlook on global terrorism and looks like its only going to get worse from here on out. The only thing standing between the Iraqi people and unrestricted genocide right now are the US troops, and its getting to the point that we are not going to be able to hold the sides apart.

No, this is just the same leftist PR rhetoric we keep hearing from the MSM. Civil war, quagmire, defeat, genocide, etcetera. Genocide is what's going on down in Sudan and other oil-bearing regions. Political theatre is what is going on in the streets of Baghdad. And the political theatre is precisely for your benefit and people who think like you (i.e leftists) , and for whom such reports of violence makes them pee their pants and want to run away.

There is NO ARMY amassed against our forces. Unlike all the failed Vietnam analogies, the Iraqis can't ever force us to leave without an army. All they can do is cause loss via terror and attrition. Their goal is to create mindsets like yours - that wants to bail out. And these folks have sponsors. Syria and Iran, despite their terror proclivities and activities are still only the hit men.

A hit man doesn't kill for fun. He/she is a mercenary and has a client. In this case the clients of terror want to shake lose America and create another Saddamocracy, where Iraqi oil is made available to TotalFinaElf and others for whom Iraqi lives mean nothing. They meant nothing before the invasion and they mean even less now that their companies make no money off of Iraq infrastructure.

It's a ruthless world out there. A hint from a French ambassador to Syrian and Iranian officials that they do not support the present Iraqi government is a tacit approval of terror operations in Iraq by mercenaries. At the same time the talk of "improvement in business and trade relationships" is diplospeak for compensation for such actions.

Pragmatists realize this is all like the bickering before a sale. In the Arab market place such haggling, indignation, shouting and arm-waving is a sight to see. Accepting the first price is a sign of utter inexperience and viewed as contemptible.

The same thing goes on in diplomacy. If Iraq currently excludes all of Saddam's ruthless ex-trading partners, they do not just walk away. First they all waved their arms and shouted. Then they tried to woo the Shiites during the first six months of occupation. And after that failed, they decided to work with those who would deal with them - Saddam's Sunnis. There is only so much oil and Iraq will be pursued. They want to make it untenable to remain without engaging them.

To believe all Sunnis simply want to blow up Shiites and vice-versa is naive. They are simply pawns, fodder for the kings and kingmakers. Explosives are expensive. Wasting them to kill some unknown civilians en masse with car bombs is not done by the average Sunni on their income. They are compensated in other ways and promised things by the kingmakers.

Unfortunately, this is way beyond the scope of most folks. Two dimensional thinking only see combatants and not strategy, and always the hands that move the pieces around the board are only fleetingly observed.

You see, Tom, I have just about had it with you and the babbling brook of bumbling bullshit that is the american right. You dumbasses got us into this war, mismanaged it, put us and our troops in an impossible situation and screwed the global status of the US. You and your cognitive ilk have assured that NK can parade functional nukes around, that Iran will become the next regional superpower in the Mideast and just about burned every bridge built by our country over the last 40 years.

That's just more of that short-sighted hysteria. NK is a tiny, poverty-ridden kingdom with nothing anyone wants. And because they have nothing anybody wants they are not even worthy of diplomatic efforts.

Have you or your 'cognitive ilk' on the left ever figured out why the US never engages in one on one talks with NK and NK always tries to get us to agree to these things?

It's because NK has nothing we want. We want 3 way talks because we are REALLY dealing with China! China says they will keep NK in line and get some agreement from US that will be lucrative. If they don't keep NK in line we use diplomacy to illustrate that it will be bad for business.

All diplomacy resolves down to money or fear.

NK has no money & no trade and only offers fear and so there can be no diplomacy.

As for Iran, Iran is in bed with the French & Russians to such an extent that diplomacy must involve these nations more than Iran! Iran and its Jew-hating President are just bishops and knights used by the kings to their own strategic advantage. And since these nations are waging a proxy war against US interests, and more importantly view our removal of Saddam as a proxy war against them, we are constantly engaged in moving pieces around the board. Africa is lately the most active part of the board.

Then, you have the NUTS to turn around and start bitching to me about how either me or other people who think like me are out for the downfall of our country.

Well, frankly- here is the deal: You are so full of shit its leaking out your ears. As seen in the last election, not only are people like me not buying this idiocy anymore, a lot of the US has wised up. We know the score, and your 'team' is down 21-to-nothing in the final minutes of the game.

In other words you and others of your 'cognitive ilk' are perfect dupes. One of millions of unsuspecting pawns who are used to be annoyances en masse. PR is the primary tool of economic warfare in the 21st century.

By making the US and Bush the villain, and creating a desire for exodus, the enemy succeeds in securing their own economic interests at the expense of our interests and a US sponsored fledgling democracy. And at what cheap cost! A steady stream of articles, analysis and talking head pieces by folks like nonsense-talking man.

So spare me the endless pontificating pseudo-patriotic prattle. You want to know who is responsible for the disaster we are in- go find a mirror... You and all the other dittoheads and your 'brave new media' blogs and your endless moralizing about war and its virtues.

You wanted me to stop 'playing cute' with you, so there it is, on a frkin' platter.
The laugh is on you. When your gas prices go up and your medicines become more expensive and the job pickings become ever more scarce - you will be able to look in the mirror and one day realize that you were one of the good puppets who helped keep the Middle East a tyrant paradise serving the people of France, Belgium, Germany & Russia. And these nations by exploiting these peoples weaken their own internal state and will make them ripe for revolution circa 2075.

When you and others of your 'cognitive ilk' lament a few thousand deaths at the expense of future millions of deaths and even more millions who will live lives of utter poverty, then and only then will the realization of how much smarter, by a factor of ten, Bush was than the leftists of the early 21st century.

But by then it will be too late.
