way way off the mark. Bush policy failures have nothing to do with the terrorist's and insurgents goal from day one of destroying American will to fight. The left's dancing around the key issue to winning or loosing the war (will to see it through) is getting really ridiculous. Again and again and again the left uses Bush policy failures as an excuse to ignore Clinton's and cover for promoting those same failed policies. We need new policies not rehashed failures from both sides. We also have to open our eyes to what is at stake, what the other side is saying, and start demanding rapid results. Phase one we had all the initiative, in the afermath of Saddam's fall we seem to have given most of it up.
Frankly, Bush may have lost this war already, but it did not have to go down this way and many of the calls were not as easy as 20/20 hindsight suggests. I think we should all stop the finger pointing and propose what we would have done different and what we would do now on a new thread. Even those that opposed the war from day one should challenge themselves to propose a way out to be judged against the way things turn out. You want to cut and run? If we do, lets see how whether terrorism goes up or down (I predict up). You want to stay the course? I predict we loose eventually. I'll post what I think we need to do in detail later when I have more time to write and flesh out some nebulous ideas. I'm pretty certain where some of the major failures were, but not so certain how to fix them after the fact.

- Your good news was welcome but you never acknowledged the bad.
- Is it your contention that the good news is more newsworthy than the obvious carnage?
- I would have settled for "as newsworthy."
- Only hear what you want to hear and disregard the rest, hmm-hmm-mmmm
- re:"I picked a side I really wanted to win. Others did too, from the very start."

- Yeah right
- I would have settled for "as newsworthy."
- Anyone want to bet that within 2 months the right will be blaming our failure in Iraq on the liberals?
- Watch TV
- Really its not a failure...
- They started blaming the left way before the election.
- A lot of that blame will have been honestly earned.
