The media will print anything anyone in Iraq tells them that's negative. Anything. They don't check, they don't back it up with other sources, they don't care how reliable the source is. If it bleeds, it leads, even if it's made up entirely.
Compare this release with some of the stories floating around last week.
One person researching these stories has discovered that the story of the six burned Sunnis came from a single source, as have a number of other stories on violence against Sunnis.
Another example of media reporting, or lack of it, here.
I won't rehash all the links again, but there were several major instances of lousy reporting and outright fraudulent information during the recent Lebanese war.
At the very least, if it's all about the big story, you'd think the media would print the propaganda from both sides. Why don't they?

- Your good news was welcome but you never acknowledged the bad.
- Is it your contention that the good news is more newsworthy than the obvious carnage?
- I would have settled for "as newsworthy."

- Anyone want to bet that within 2 months the right will be blaming our failure in Iraq on the liberals?
- Watch TV
- Really its not a failure...
- They started blaming the left way before the election.
- A lot of that blame will have been honestly earned.
