re: Wow, someone woke up
That was a flaming good post, for sure, but I'm not entirely sure it's inappropriate here (speaking strictly as a citizen). I got the impression that Yeti was taking on the entire Right through Tom, its quasi-official spokesman around here. To wit
I have just about had it with you and the babbling brook of bumbling bullshit that is the american right. You dumbasses got us into this war,
Maybe he should've targeted Tom personally less, but the question of how well RightWing ideology (and RightWing ideologues) have served or disserved the country is a vital one. Its impossible to overlook the contribution of intellectual blinders and narrow dogmatism to all the problems they've got us into. As they've sown, so have we reaped.
If you want to find out the true value of a political philosophy, put it in sole charge for a few years, and stand back (or run for cover) and watch what it produces. Time for the post-game analysis. I expect that RightWing extremism's headed back into the box for a few years, though I also know it'll never go away permanently. They'll be back.
