Over three and a half years the American Left has taken the side of the opposition on every issue having to do with the war. Every single one.
As I have said many times, if al Qaeda and the insurgents were actually paying the New York Times hard cash in unmarked bills, the coverage would have been no different.
This has also been true, with certain notable exceptions, for the Democatic leadership. The Democrats are calling for outright retreat. They don't believe the crap about the violence decreasing when the Americans are gone any more than anyone else with a moderately good grasp of reality. But the hell Iraq will become will cement their foreign policy views--appeasement and apathy instead of action and confrontation--for many years.
You can blow a gasket on that all you like. You're certainly good at it. But it doesn't change the truth.
