Murrow? Good Lord. A rehashed Howard Beale at best.
With pre-planned camera cuts, "furious" voice intonations, and head turns, Olbermann plays his particular audience like a five-dollar fiddle. Obviously, it works. He's finally found a niche that brings ratings.
I don't believe Murrow ever raised his voice in anger, and while Olbermann fancies himself as Murrow's heir, I don't think he's kidding anyone.
Ironically, Olbermann seems to personify exactly the kind of mindless, emotional political discourse Robert says Al Gore is railing against.
I'm not impressed by anger as an argument. Any idiot can foam at the mouth, and I'm well-aware that a lot of my opposition is running on emotion and not reason.
