Well I'd give regard to your suggestion of Olbermann taking on the Rushdie cause if I could find a substantial number of your posts on the matter on Islamic blog sites with a full disclosure of your name and address and an itinerary of your movements.
Real easy to take stupid pot shots like that one Tom when you even now hide your own identity on this board. I could care less. Makes perfect sense for you to do it but you pretty much lose your credibility on a subject like this one.
And the risk I'm talking about isn't of life and limb. It's his career he puts into jeopardy nightly. The majority owner of MSNBC is General Electric, a company that gets a lot of profit from the warmongering of GWB and his policies and who incidentally donated 1.1 million to the Bush campaign in 2000. I'm certain there's some exec in the company that cringes everytime Olbermann opens his mouth and fantasizes about making the man a weatherman in Des Moines if things get too far out of hand.
Don't you ever believe there isn't a black list in the entertainment business. The media bosses support one another because they know they'll need a favor sometime and they're simply in a different world from the artists. Theirs isn't a world of creativity and compassion. It's all about profits. Howard Beale was meant as a parable to that. As long as he was just entertaining and stirred the audience he was an asset. When he took on the system he became a target. Life isn't quite that dramatic but damn near in the world you or I will never touch so excuse me if I laugh at your notion that Olbermann has no risk. Bush has a lot of months left and an incredible amount of power in departments that can make the media's life hell.
