Thanks Tom for not dwelling long in the rational arena. You had me greatly worried.
The only reason Fitzgerald didn't go after the true leak in the Plame case is because Libby lied, misled, and destroyed the evidence. It's that very action that brought the charges against him. It's absolutely clear to anyone following the case from a rational standpoint that Libby was thrown out as the fall guy to protect Rove and Cheney and it worked like a charm.
What you always fail to mention in your defense of the White House and the prosecution is that nearly all involved in Libby's conviction were Republican or Republican presidential appointees from the prosecutors to the sentencing judges. Were these people all in on the witch hunt? Did those sneaky rich Dems get to all of them? I'd love to see a conversation between you and the bunch of them and you start spouting your b.s. They'd have you for lunch.
No, your defense is as always to start deflecting the blame to the liberal conspiracy and of course Bill Clinton. Wow, such cunning. We've never before seen that argument.
And I'm sorry Tom but your claim that Plame wasn't a covert agent just doesn't hold water. I've heard and read interview after interview of intelligence experts state categorically that she was not only deep undercover but that her cover company had to immediately stop its work in the field of uncovering the transportation of rogue nuclear material. The extent of the damage we'll probably never know though. The only people that contend otherwise are connected in some way to the very administration that should be squirming under the microscope. Go lay your talking points elsewhere.
Just for once put on a video of Joseph Wilson and one of Karl Rove or Dick Cheney side by side and you look in their eyes, listen to their words, look me straight in the eye and tell me who the liar is. If you can't you're either a master liar yourself or a gullible fool.
