I remember the liberal moral outrage about Clinton having to go through what he did for something unrelated to the original Whitewater investigation. Heck, he was never even convicted.
I suspect liberals back then would have been even more outraged if they had learned that the investigators knew from the very beginning that Clinton had not committed a Whitewater crime.
I remember the fury and foul abuse directed at Ken Starr--ten times the crap the right has ever directed at Fitzgerald.
I remember why Moveon.org was originally founded.
And I remember Clinton's own pardon list, which had more than a few interesting characters in it, including one who went to jail for not testifying against him.
I was disgusted with many months of investigation into a non-crime that finally snagged someone on a perjury charge. I was disgusted with those who were given passes in the course of the trial--particularly in the press--in order to attack political targets. I didn't know Libby from a hole in the ground prior to this controversy, and I personally didn't care whether he went to jail or not. I have a lot more concern about who's going to be president in 2008 than I do about Bush, who isn't running next time.
