Nice obscure references--I've really missed the "academic" touch around here. Of course, the idea that "all comparisons are odious" is, of course, a load of crap. Without noting common characteristics and differences between ideas, people, and things, how else to make judgements and form patterns and complex abstractions? Or discuss concepts like morality? I have generally found that those who say things like "all comparisons are odious" or things like "don't judge," are those who really can't stand up to comparisons or judgment.

You might have noticed in my posts that the theme for today has been "rank hypocrisy," or "it's only bad when your guys do it."

You drop a stinker like "Republican morality" on the table, you'd better be able to back that up. You brought up the "Democratic president" and his process crime. Just looking for a little consistency.
