If I have to pound this into people's heads, I will keep pounding.
This is not about 1 in 100 people being unimportant. This is about a 1 in 100 problem not being enough reason to scrap a system that delivers working health care to the other 99 and replace it with one that probably won't.
Does this sink in?
The graph I included in my post implies that the results of care delivered by Medicare--a single payer government health care system--is just about the same as the results delivered by no insurance at all. That wasn't my graph. That was theirs.
Did THAT sink in?
This isn't about feelings. It's about reality, and people out there trying to pull the wool over your eyes in order to take over yet another large chunk of our lives.
If we dumped $500 trillion into health care, people will STILL die of cancer. Maybe you overlooked the little fact that in that article, over half a million people died of cancer who DID have insurance. The point of my post was that the lack of insurance actually has almost no bearing on these overall cancer mortality figures, and that if we DID have Medicare-style government insurance, the end results would be almost the same as for no insurance.
And the kind of brain that can't work its way past the words "Twice As Likely To Die" is part of the problem.
For God's sake, THINK!
