wanting Tom to find stats for you. He will always go to a source that omits the gray areas you and I know exist.
Hell Daren. He and I got into this long drawn-out debate about the the types of people one runs into in the military where he was arguing about what I'd seen with my own two eyes based on stats he'd found furnished by....get this....the military themselves. Now would the military want public statistics to paint themselves in a good light? Oh no. Of course not. If Tom finds it somewhere in the links of some conservative think tank blog, it's the truth.
If Tom furnishes statistics to you related to health care, it will be carefully chosen to slew the results in the direction of his political ideology. He skillfully omits the ones that fall counter to his position.
Compassion and human experience are impossible to quantify so you'll talk till your face turns blue if you turn this into some numbers game. He wins by pushing the conversation that way.
