TB, TB, TB...

You consistently shoot yourself in the foot by starting out with a fairly reasonable point that might be worth discussion...

This isn't an academic argument. If your point of view wins, I will be forced to abandon whatever health care solutions I have chosen...

...by suddenly shooting off at a bizarre tangent with that extreme RightWing paranoia:
... for a monopoly government-enforced system whose primary goal will not be to deliver health care, but to deliver power to a centralized authority through which well over a trillion dollars will pass each year.

Yeah, like everybody who takes a job in government does so for the sole purpose of ruining your life and destroying America. Yeah, it's a conspiracy. Sure.

You maintain that everybody who wants a solution to the health care problem is being completely irrational and is governed solely by emotion. What do you call your deep-seated fear of government? Your resistance, and that of your Republican colleagues, is based solely on the emotion of fear that leads to an irrational conclusion: Better to sacrifice the lives of millions of Americans to poor health care than to take the "risk" of government involvement.

I'm telling people they can't jump off the edge of the Grand Canyon with cardboard wings

Just checking: You did see the thread on human flying squirrels, didn't you? There's a profound lesson there, if you can get past your fear to see it.
