I've totally made my case

By displacing 10 percent of current oil consumption with ethanol, followed by an additional 75 percent reduction in vehicle weight, we would displace a total of 85 percent of oil being used today for fuel. Greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles would be reduced by 85 percent, along with enormous amounts of air pollution. This could be done without any expansion of ethanol production beyond current levels, nor any use of expensive lightweight materials, nor any super-advanced super-expensive fuel cell or even hybrid technology. This is the simplest, most feasible, most economical solution.

You hydrogen economy is total bunk by comparison, with $300,000 vehicles being paid for by tax dollars and driven around (carefully) by government employees being HYPED as somehow the future cars that everyone should buy. Apparently politicians have forgotten how many pay hikes they have given themselves and actually believe everyone is in the same pay scale as they are. I have news for you, almost nobody is going to buy such an expensive vehicle, regardless of how fuel efficient it is. And when everyone finds out that producing enough hydrogen will require the construction of hundreds more nuclear plants, the shit is really going to hit the fan. It is YOU that are telling people what they should buy, I merely wish to provide a more cost-effective option while at the same time achieving all the goals that hydrogen has HYPED but has no chance of reaching.
