Typical aerospace engineer approach, force a SINGLE soultion on everyone.
There are already small hi-mileage cars like the Honda Insight (60 mpg) and Toyota Pirus (50 mpg) for those that want to go that route. But here you want to take that freedom of choice away Americans and force YOUR solution on them, just like it was the Soviet Union.
Then you want to force the ethanol solution on the country as well even though it has the potential to do even worst environmental damage then gasoline is doing without making the nation energy indepenedent as I have shown.
Why not just outlaw autos entirely and force people to ride bikes and/or use public transit? You would make the nation energy independent a lot faster that way and at least you wouldn't destroy the environment the way ethanol will.
