"Malthus wasn't proven wrong. In fact he was proven right. Darwin's theory was inspired by Malthus, and evolution is a fact of life. One of the main elements of natural selection is that a species will always have more offspring than can possibly survive. They will consume their resources until they are depleted, then they will starve to death en-mass. In this way, humans are proving to be identical to every other animal on earth."
Yet, life as survived for billions of years- the some of the same lifeforms have survived for billions of years. The most dominate lifeforms on planet earth has survived for billions of years, and they don't even have a brain. And there is little data that confirms that any species died off because they consumed all their potential food supply.
Malthus was about as wrong as you get.
What is proven by Darwin theory is that life can changes over time. And btw, humans are unlikely to remain the same over the next million year- even over the next thousand years. Humans could transform themselves- in terms of evolutional change, human are capable transforming in a nanosecond of geologic time. That is the power of the mind- if it's used.
In a somewhat related aspect- no human civilization has ever failed due to exterior forces [other countries or peoples]- but like clockwork, they all decide due to interior factors [choices they make] to fail.
